Information

Located in Lasa, near Polis.  Lasa Heights is a small family owned hotel situated in the rolling hills above the town of Paphos. Part of the hotel, built in the 19th century, was for many years the village coffee shop and the natural meeting point in the area.

The old building has recently been renovated in the traditional Cypriot style and a new wing added. The hotel comprises 9 double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, arranged around a charming courtyard set with natural stone, in the middle of which stands a beautiful old olive tree. There are some stunning views towards the Akamas peninsula and the pretty port of Latchi.

This is the ideal location for the discerning traveller.

Recreation

Akamas Region
Clearly one of the most dramatic places of natural beauty on the island and listed as a world heritage site, the Akamas peninsula is just a 2- minute drive from Lasa Heights. There are many exiting paths to explore and many endemic species of flora and fauna can be found here. Take a 4-wheel drive vehicle across to Lara Bay, with its beautiful golden sandy beach and clear blue waters and see where the turtles come to nest and lay their eggs. Or simply relax and enjoy one of the pretty little coves.

Outdoor Pursuits
There are an abundance of nature trails all over the island that will take you through some breathtaking scenery. Horse riding is available and the hire of bicycles and motorbikes can be arranged. Latchi marina is just a 20-minute drive and here you will find a number of boats that do daily excursions around the Akamas. There are also small boats for hire for a day of private exploration of the blue lagoons and for swimming. There is an endless stretch of natural beaches all along the coastal line of Polis Chrsysochous, one of them surrounded by Eucalyptus Trees and with a beach taverna close by.

Golf & Sports
Lasa Heights is just 20 to 45 minutes away from some excellent golfing on 18-hole standard championship golf courses at Minthis Hills, Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley. Water Sports are available on the long stretch of beach in Latchi bay, and you can find scuba diving and snorkelling at the marina.

History & Attractions
The region of Polis Chrysochous, 20 minutes from Lasa Heights, has many archaeological sites. It has a rich cultural heritage dating back over 9,000 years. In this area they started mining copper already in the fourth millennium B.C. The mining ceased many years ago and it is now planned to turn the abandoned site into a golf course and tourist accommodation. The jetty from where the copper ore was shipped out is still in place, although recently renovated.

Drive to the pretty little port of Pomos, along some beautiful coastal roads and you can go all the way to the end of the area of the Republic of Cyprus and visit the small 16th century church dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Chrysopateritissa, one of the least known churches in Cyprus. In Pomos you can also visit Saint Rafael, one of the most well known churches in Cyprus.

Driving past Latchi will bring you to the Akamas peninsula and the bath of Aphrodite. In this natural spring the Goddess is said to have taken her ablutions. From here starts a nature trail that will lead you along the edge of the Mediterranean to a cove with the pretty sounding name of Fontana Amorosa. The water here is crystal clear.

25 minutes drive South of Lasa Heights will take you to the historical town of Paphos. Visit the mosaics and the harbour with its old fort. You can take the scenic route to Paphos via the wine villages in the Kathikas area, visit the wineries for some tasting before continuing down to the golden beach of Coral Bay, which is perfect for sunbathing and swimming.

Restaurants
There are many restaurants and tavernas in the region. Some have a theme, like the Old Water Mill about 10 minutes from here with its adjacent water mill museum. The local village tavernas in Fyti are a very good option for local cuisine and just 5 minutes drive from the hotel. Our friendly staff will be only too happy to help you chose from the many options available.

Points of Interest

Lasa Heights is ideally situated within easy reach of the coastal and inland areas of Western Cyprus, and taking the motorway, which is only a short drive away, you can visit other areas of Cyprus all the way to the easternmost part of the island within a day.
