A nice hotel, let down by the restaurant being unexpectedly close for 2 nights in a row. Seems to be focused on coach parties, not singles/couples.

Really lovely town hotel. Rooms sparkling clean and efficient air-conditioning which you need in Nicosia. Breakfast is varied and nicely presented. Perfect location for exploring the old town - I am not keen on the look and feel of the new town. Rated three stars for service because every time I visit there is an issue getting the key card for the room to work.

I stayed at the hotel during a conference at Frederick University in Nicosia. The room was not spacious but sufficient and clean. Staff provided excellent service at any time and was friendly and helpful. The small but very convenient gym on the top floor with a nice view is an extra asset. The great location close to resp. in the Old Town is a great plus as all central venues were in a kind of walking distance. Even the university was just a 40 min walk or

I stayed at The Classic Hotel when I attended a conference in Cyprus recently. I had a spacious single room facing the fire station with a comfortable bed and shower/toilet, but the room was still quiet enough at night. The hotel's proximity to the bus station and the city center is a plus point. The staff were friendly and helpful, and made the stay a pleasant one.

Well located hotel and staff in the restaurant were lovely and helpful. My room was extremely pokey however (I measured 2lengths of my size 7 feet plus a toe length on each side of the bed) and almost no space to put my clothes so I had to keep them in my case (which had to be kept half on the bed as there was no where else to lay it to open it. ) I understand from colleagues that their rooms were better though. It is obvious there is a significant cost cutting by the owners (no fresh milk, cheap instant coffee and margarine served in restaurant, many menu items not in stock, toiletries/tea/water not replenished in room after 1st day -i was there for a week- , Aircon not switched on despite polite requests and one day - despite a "please clean" sign on my door from 7am my room still hadn't been cleaned by 4pm and other days it was also difficult). Plus the electrical plug crackled dangerously and worked sporadically and the basin leaked quite badly. Despite the economy drive the chef provided a good selection for breakfast and a very nice electrician came and replaced the electrical outlet quite quickly. Well located in that it's within walking distance of the old square and quite a few restaurants and shops.

These modern designed rooms are of an elegant style. The wooden floors, the primary coloured fabrics and the marbled bathrooms are combined to create a warm atmosphere. Each of these rooms offers a range of facilities emphasizing luxury, quality and comfort.

The Executive Classic Rooms are 30 square meters in size and provide additional facilities, while the Family Classic Rooms consist of 2 separate en-suite standard classic rooms with one main entrance.

The Blue Bar, the hotel’s International Wine Bar serves lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Truly elegant, it’s one of the neighbourhoods’ most popular spots to enjoy a glass of wine and an exquisite meal. On specific days enjoy live music and signature cocktails. 
Lunch: Monday - Friday: 12:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m.
Dinner: Monday - Sunday: 19:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The 59 Knives, the hotel’s restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Casually elegant, with an enriched buffet and mysterious name, it is the perfect spot to enjoy a fine meal at reasonable prices.

The Olive Tree Secluded Courtyard, the hotel’s indoor garden serves breakfast and brunch on weekends. On afternoons enjoy some coffee or tea in their wonderful garden and if one is a fan of smoking shisha as well, please ask the waiter for more details. Please keep in mind there are no reservations since seating is limited and they work on a first come first serve basis.

Area Information/Places of Interest

Nicosia, also known as Lefkosia, is Cyprus' capital and largest city. It is the seat of government as well as the primary business centre and sits about in the centre of the island. Nicosia is the administrative centre and capital of the Nicosia District, and it is the world's only divided capital city since the collapse of the Berlin Wall.

The central Eleftheria Square connects old Nicosia with the magnificent modern city that has grown up outside the walls, where hotels, offices, restaurants, and gardens coexist peacefully with the city's fine old residences and colonial buildings.

 

Eleftheria Square

The heart of the city is Eleftheria (Freedom) Square, with the city hall, the post office and the library. Adjacent Ledra Street leads to the liveliest part of the old city with narrow streets, boutiques, and cafes.

 

Kyprianos Square

The Palace of the Archbishop can be found at Arkhiepiskopos Kyprianos Square. Although it appears very old, it is a wonderful imitation of typical Venetian style, built-in 1956. Next to the palace is the late Gothic St John Cathedral (1665) with picturesque frescos.

 

Pyli Ammochostou

Famagusta Gate is one of the original entrances to the old city, which won the Europa Nostra award for its restoration. Many old churches are found in this part of town, and other places of interest.

 

Laiki Yitonia

The restored pedestrian area within the walled city, east of Eleftheria Square, with charming winding alleys with traditional houses and shops, restaurants, galleries, all lovingly restored as typical examples of Cypriot urban architecture of a bygone, more graceful age.
