So.e say this place is dated, yea ok a little but what do you expect, it's friendly, it's very clean and it's location is fantastic for a walk into the village, we had 14 nights here and loved it, we had to hire a car as to see alot of what's on offer around the mountains, there are busses every 30 mins that go most places, the pool here is lovely with chairs and sunbeds, and a bar, breakfast was good with fresh eggs cooked to order,, owners are lovely and friendly, also good wifi in all rooms, recommended and will return,

Second time holidaying here.rooms are basic but everything works fine fridge and air con ice cold plenty of hot water for shower and the beds are comfortable with linen and towels changed regularly. Pool bar is great with reasonably priced meals and drinks, owners pambos and Eleni really go out of their way with nothing being too much of a problem. The pool has plenty of beds around it and has a lovely background of flowers and greenery. Authentic town square a 5 min stroll away with loads of great restaurants and bars and cafés all reasonably priced. A little bit further away is the harbour of latchi (10 Euro taxi) or a stiff stroll, some excellent restaurants right on the front very scenic. All in all a very relaxed holiday so much so we've already booked up for next year! Highly recommended.

Wonderful Holiday at Mariela Third time staying here. Very clean Room, maids everyday, spacious and nice Balcony which looked over the pool. Two pools here always well maintained along with pretty flowers/shrubs. Plenty of sunbeds, pool Bar snacks available and drinks very reasonable. Lift to the rooms in all three Blocks. We booked a boat trip through Mariela, Pambos (owner) very helpful they picked us up and took us to Latchi Harbour great trip. My Mum and I had an amazing massage in the hotel highly recommend. Pambos, Eleni and all staff so welcoming, friendly and helpful enjoyed seeing them again. Supermarket which just down the road everything you could ever need, locals use this. Lovely bakery across the Road. Plenty of choice for restaurants and easy to get to Polis square within walking distance and had great food everytime. Use the buses, bus station 5 minute walk away from hotel 2€ tickets. Highly recommend this hotel looking forward to booking again soon. Rebecca, Gill & Bob

As with others. We booked this apartment complex due to its good reviews. Especially those saying they have come here time and time again. This holiday did not start particularly well. My partner became ill with suspected food poisoning as a result of her in flight meal. We arrived around midnight and were greeted by the member of staff who is on at that time. We were given a key and then she pointed where to go. In our case apt 32C We went up a rather tired and noisy lift to floor 3 and opened the apartment door. Instantly we saw the filthy floor with stains, the grubby smelly bathroom with the broken shower held up with someone’s old ear plugs, the torn furniture. My heart sank, but I knew there was little I could do at the time when exhausted with a sick partner. The next day was pretty much a write off for my partner so not a great deal happened. I did, however, notice the bed was rock hard. I sleep on my side so actually woke a few times with a dead arm. We had one small thin sheet on the bed and in an overhead cupboard were 2 smelly pillows and a smelly, stained blanket. That sort of smell when something has been left damp too long. I noticed the cobwebs above the shower, the cutlery that had not been properly cleaned and the filthy stained cooking / food prep area. On the second morning my partner started feeling better so we spoke to 2 other guests. One across from us said her room was tired and dirty and would not be back. She was a regular visitor to the area and had family nearby, and stated other places were far better. The people next to us also said they were disappointed and had also booked based on the reviews. They had actually even looked at a different hotel close by and considered moving. To be honest we would have left that day had it not been for the message on my phone that the Jet2 rep was due to come over to assist with queries. My partner met the Jet2 rep, Hollie, and brought her to our apartment. We showed her the apartment and she said she would speak to the owners and have them deep clean the room and open a complaint file on what we had said and she had seen. We had hired a car so decided to take off, hoping to come back to a clean room. About an hour or so later I received a call from the Jet2 rep saying instead of cleaning the room we would be offered a different room. We got back and were given a key for another room on the same floor. It was basically the same level of cleanliness. It was late on so we spent another night in the room. Now perhaps they had changed the pillows when we had been out, because on this night I had to take them off the bed. The pillows had that horrible damp / mould smell. I instead tried to sleep using towels as pillows. That was the final straw! We mentioned this to the hotel receptionist and her response was simply “well, we are the cheapest”. That said it all. In the early hours of the morning, I said to my partner that I had simply had enough and wanted to leave, even if that meant going home. My partner was of the same mind. She spoke to the people next to us about the hotel they had looked at previously as they had also considered swapping. My partner had a look at the hotel, literally across and up from Mariella, and said “ We are moving!” The other place was about £70 per night and it was a small price to pay to save the holiday. That’s only about £15 per night more than Mariella. The difference was a 6ft wide soft bed with clean sheets, 2 separate rooms, amazing accommodating hosts. Obviously, we had to pay to stay there but frankly it was a small price to pay to save the holiday. How Jet2 now deal with this will of course be a separate review. In summary. I can’t understand the good reviews. Perhaps the 2 rooms we looked at and the 2 other guests we spoke to were the bad ones.
