I strongly advise against staying at New York Plaza Hotel Apartments. Our experience was unacceptable from start to finish. For three nights, we were forced to stay in a room with no heating and no hot water, leaving us freezing and unable to shower. Despite reporting the issues multiple times through the app and at the reception, the hotel did absolutely nothing to fix the situation. We received only empty apologies and promises — even the extra blankets they claimed they would bring never arrived. The balcony door couldn’t be locked, which felt unsafe, and although the hotel lists a safe among the room amenities, there was no safe at all. Basic standards were simply not met. Because of the freezing conditions, I got sick and had to spend additional money on treatment — something that should never happen during a hotel stay. Booking.com even contacted the hotel on our behalf, asking for any form of compensation for the three nights we spent shivering. The hotel ignored the request and refused to take any responsibility. What’s worse, we had to fight for three days just to get a room change, even though the conditions were clearly unacceptable from the very beginning. And shockingly, just a few hours after we finally moved out, our faulty room was given to new guests, proving how little the hotel cares about people’s comfort or safety. On top of that, the bathroom didn’t even have a hairdryer, and the breakfast was very poor and repetitive. I have never encountered such an unprofessional and dismissive attitude toward guests. This stay was exhausting, stressful, and harmful to our health. I wouldn’t return even if it were free. Save yourself the nerves, the discomfort, and the risk — choose another place.

You get what you pay for. Cheap old hotel in very nice location. Good place if You just need a place to sleep and then go out during the day. A/C and fridge are old but working very good. Breakfest are fine but the same every day. Staff was very nice and helpful. Pool was clean. Cats 😻

I booked here despite some poor reviews because it had a good location and the price was right. I'm traveling solo and have been traveling for 4 straight months. I stay in a lot of hostels and hotels every year -- more than 200 days a year. Based on my experience (latest trips have been Spain, England and Cyprus) I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. First, I was warmly greeted by Sam at the front desk. She is a gem, an honest, straightforward type of person without pretense. She walked me to my room and I was quite happy with the layout. The AC was on, working the whole time, the room was bright and clean and I saw no mold or exposed wires or anything out of the norm. It had a deck/balcony with plastic table and 2 chairs. The sliding door locked perfectly fine. There was a mini-fridge and a couch and "coffee table" and a small desk and chair. Kettle and teas and coffee. The bathroom has small but good shower and decent towels -- 2 sets. The bed was quite comfortable, wasn't an old springy job -- modern heavy foam construction type. I slept great, the area was quiet. I was in Bldg C in a top floor. This was no dungeon, trust me. I'd probably rate it 3.5 if I could but considering it's better -- in my opinion -- thaa a 3, I'm rounding-up. I had a good experience. That being said did I find some minor deficiencies? They kitchen counter had some minor marrs -- chips to surface -- and the elevator was apparently not working. I rarely use them anyway. The wifi could be spotty in the back but worked well enough. Was the furniture a bit dated? Yeah. Like most resort / tourist places I've been. I wasn't moving in -- 2 nights was my stay -- but wouldn't have bothered me for 5. The grounds around the back buildings isn't real scenic but it's pretty nice around the pool area, leafy/tropical and shady. The breakfast was very solid. Plenty of hot food and options -- yogurt fruit and decent coffee machine. It's not the Ritz but I'm not the Ritzy type, just looking for a decent bed and some basic amenities at a fair price. I would give 0 stars if it would be possible. Avoid this place! A complete scam, the photos do not match reality. I don’t even know where to start — everything looked terrible. When we arrived, we got an apartment with two rooms. There was an air conditioner, but I’ve never seen anything like it in my life (attached photo). By the way, the air conditioner didn’t even work — they just put a fan there instead. The bathroom window… I don’t even know how to describe it — awful. The shelves in the closets (attached photo) were a total disaster… The lamps were basically just lightbulbs hanging on a wire. It was a complete mess. The price wasn’t high, but still not worth it, especially since the location was terrible. We didn’t even stay the night there — we left and went to another hotel. Booking refunded us only for one night, and we had to pay for the other one too, which was just crazy. P.S. we talked with booking and they told us, that this property made changes for our stay themselves In short — avoid this place. It’s not worth your time or money. You’d be better off sleeping outside on a bench.

Very bad experience! The hotel refused to refund our booking even though we clearly explained that we couldn’t travel. We also spoke with Booking.com, who confirmed that there was no issue from their side, but the staff here were extremely unhelpful and rude. I do not recommend this hotel at all. As someone working in the tourism industry, I will make sure to share and highlight all the negative aspects of this property so that others are aware of their poor service and lack of hospitality. Terrible customer service! The staff who replied to us were extremely unfriendly, cold, and unprofessional. Instead of showing understanding or trying to help, their answers were short, dismissive, and without any empathy. This is not the kind of treatment you expect from a hotel. I strongly advise others to avoid this place, as the attitude of the employees shows a complete lack of respect for guests.
