I stayed here ar beginning of May and had the worst experience of my life. Rooms were filthy underneath the bed and in shower are. food was very limited choice and bland. Staff at reception were so unwelcoming and one person in particular didn't smile once.
I asked to use the bathroom while sitting in the lobby and was directed to use the stairs and when I started going down the stairs the lights didn't work causing me to fall and break my foot.
Since getting home I'm still recovering and I've not had any response to messages sent by email to the manager. I cannot drink alcohol due to a medical condition so I was not under any influence of alcohol as stated by a member of staff. This ruined my holiday and I'm still struggling to walk as a result of the hotels negligence

First of all, it must be said that we had a great week in Protaras, and that there is NOTHING with our stay at the Vrissaki Beach Hotel that was terrible.
BUT, as it has itself rated and described as an "upscale 4-star hotel"...well, then somebody SHOULD cry out: "Stop the BULL****"
Lets at the very start mention what is really GOOD about the Vrissaki. Location, location, location. Could hardly be better.
But, then there's the down sides:
1. The hotel in general is pretty worn. It is visibly a little tired in general. You see it everywhere, from the reception area to the rooms. A refurbishment looks very much needed.
In the rooms, which are pleasant enough interiorwise, the bathroom has some shortcomings. Water pressure in the shower is bad. I mean, in a way that if you have long hair, good luck getting the shampoo out-BAD. Oh, and shampoo? Bring your own! The one provided by the hotel in the shower, through a dispenser, is the worst I have ever used. Felt as if it was the cheapest kind of shower gel you can get.
Oh, and by the way; who remembers the Covid Pandemic? You know, markings/signs/stickers informing of keeping distance, to wear a face-mask, etc...
But you don't usually see those anymore, as the Pandemic hasn't been the general public awareness since, well, 2022? Right?
Wrong, atleast when it comes to the Vrissaki. The amentioned signs and stickers are all over the place! In 2025...
2. Service at the hotel. Sure, a couple of employees were really friendly, but in general there was nothing near the kind of service-level you should expect at a TRUE 4-star hotel. From different receptionists, to cleaners, to the spa staff; you got hardly a smile, at BEST, and if asking a question, there was a general "do you have to bother me? I only work here..."-sort of attitude. For instance, when asking one of the ladies manning the spa reception-desk about the opening hours for the fitness room/gym, and she replied rather sourly that she "believed it was from 7 am till 8 pm"...yes, she believed...
If you're not sure, maybe you double check? I mean, it's a guest that wants to know...and you have a job because of guests.
When we checked in at the hotel, there was only one receptionist , and she was flat out grumpy and stressed. No smiles, not a trace of anything expressing that their guests are welcome. Sure, there were about 12 guests checking in at the same time, but the way she rushed through each of them, franticly giving out info, spending about 20 seconds per guest, scribbling markings on the welcome document given to each guest, etc, all the while with face that looked as if she could lash out at any second, isn't something that gives a sense of WELCOME, is it?
In August last year, I stayed for a week at the Grecian Bay in Agia Napa. A 4-star hotel as well, but an ACTUAL one. A whole different experience, in EVERY and ANY regard! Two different leagues, really.
3. The breakfast service, served at the Bikinki Beach Bar, was OK in general. Pretty good selection of bread (although the bread in general was surprisingly bland tastewise), spreads, compliments, fruits, etc. Nothing to complain about, yet, still not a 4-star feeling in general here either. No real sense of service. Nobody welcomes you when you arrive (yet, the staff here was atleast alot more friendly than the general staff at the hotel), and after a week of the breakfast buffet here, the lack of variation was apparent. And there were certain details here too that simply does not match 4-stars. One morning, the service was closed at 7 am when guests had arrived. Ten minutes of waiting. Critical? Nope. But, again; it is not something you should experience at a 4-star hotel.
Another morning, the milk served was little above room temperature....mmmm, yummy!
I come across here as probably salty and high demanding, and one might think I am the guest from hell. But truly, I am not. Sometimes you just got to point out certain things that needs to be mentioned.
Bottom-line: a solid 3-star hotel, nowhere near 4.

The food, let’s start with that. If you like cold food and food that’s reused for tomorrow’s lunch then this hotel is for you! No but seriously, dreadful. We paid £3000 as a family of 3 with a 3 year old toddler, who unfortunately doesn’t want to eat chicken nuggets and chips everyday. Towards the end of the holiday we complained along with several others and the food was finally hot, but we ate out at least 5/8 days we were there. The hotel rooms are tiny, I mean tiny, there’s no where to unpack your stuff, my little boy was living out of a suitcase which with kids is very hard to do. There’s nothing for kids to do, no entertainment or interactive staff. The restaurant staff quite literally act like they hate their job. Mariana behind the bar by the pool is the best thing the hotel has to offer, nothing was too much of an ask for her

We were a group of 22 family members celebrating an 85th birthday.
The hotel was very accommodating and helpful in arranging the festivities.
The rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice view of the sea.
And most of all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Vrissaki Beach is a lovely hotel, perfect location, rooms are spacious modern great sea view rooms. Staff were friendly & helpful. Very clean. Breakfast was nice good choice. Unfortunately, on check out I was met with a very rude & abrupt receptionist who berated me for not having the towel card, I put towels in the day before but didnt realise I should have got card back! She was not happy at all , I really dont think I am desparate to take home 2 towels ! Not really the best way to speak to guests. I would recommend Vrissaki and stay again. I'll just make sure I have the towel card at checkout.
