Asterias Beach Hotel is directly on the beach of sweeping Makronissos bay: a “Blue flag” beach, famous for its fine, white sands and crystal clear water.
The hotel enjoys a unique position right on the magnificent Makronissos Bay; the first beach in Cyprus to be awarded the blue flag and is known for its white sandy beach and crystal clear waters. Within a five minute walk you will find countless restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and banks.
Asterias Beach is located directly on the border to the St. Nikandros Forest nature reserve, where tranquility and natural beauty reign, in a bay, directly on the gently sloping, beautiful and fine sandy "Makronissos" beach, which is well suited for children. Shops and restaurants are in the vicinity of the hotel (approx. 600 m). The cosmopolitan center of Ayia Napa with shops, restaurants and taverns is around 4.5 km away. Bus stop approx. 500 m away.
Popular with guests, the four-storey holiday complex is characterized by its particularly attractive beach location and is therefore ideal for beach and bathing fun. Lobby with reception, seating and a cozy bar area. Large outdoor patio. Restaurant and cafeteria, mini market, hairdresser. Internet corner (for a fee). On the beach you will find a large selection of water sports, but you can also work out in the hotel's fitness center or use the tennis court, for example. To pamper your body and soul, take a long sauna session and relax with a massage. Among other things, various beauty and health treatments are offered.
The hotel has a pool bar and a cocktail bar. Buffet breakfast is served on the poolside terrace, while lunchtime snacks and grills are available at the poolside taverna. Dinner is also served buffet style, in the main restaurant or on the romantically lit poolside terrace in summer.

I stayed at this hotel in November 2024 as part of a last minute beach holiday booking for 5 nights & I was very pleasantly impressed.
The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is modern, clean and very well maintained.
The rooms are spacious, the bed was very large & comfortable with a nice sized en-suite featuring a walk-in shower, toilet and sink with a large mirror.
The rooms have a mini fridge, tv and safe which is in the large wardrobe. My only small issue with the room is that they don’t have tea/coffee/kettle which is a minor problem for me as I do enjoy a hot coffee first thing in the morning. The hotel may have provided a kettle upon request but I didn’t ask, instead I stocked up on iced coffees from the nearest off-site supermarket which is about a 10-15 minute walk out to the main road & has a much larger selection of items than the small convenient hotel shop. The hotel shop has the bare minimum, a fridge with cold drinks including beer and soft drinks and water, and some shelves with a small offering of snacks. There’s also some souvenirs and beach essentials.
My package came with breakfast and the breakfast buffet didn’t disappoint. There was a wide selection of cold cut meats and cheeses, yoghurts, spreads, breads, fruits, pastries, and hot food including all the ingredients you’d want for a ‘full English’. 3 Coffee machines that make all types of coffee, tea and milk areas and a fruit juice/water dispenser.
The pool looked nice enough although I didn’t use it. Your towels for the beach/pool are in your room but you can change them for clean ones daily at the pool bar.
For me the main draw was the beach/es. The main beach is very pleasant, golden sand and clear blue waters. The sea was very warm for this time of year so swimming was my main focus whilst here.
There’s 2 other beaches very nearby, one being On the same side as the main beach, this was my favourite one as it was quieter, and another on the other side of the bay. This one seemed to be mainly for the other nearby hotel but as it was closed the beach was empty and very peaceful.
There’s also some interesting rock formations around this area which seem to have a lot of history as there’s also an archaeological site featuring some excavated tombs.
On this short trip I stayed mostly local, only walking up the coastline towards the centre of Ayia Napa and back again.
I really enjoyed this trip and the Asterias hotel made for a great place to base myself. I’d definitely visit again and make full use of all the hotel’s facilities next time, as it’s a very nice hotel.

Asterias Beach Hotel stands for great food, clean rooms, marvelous beach and very friendly staff. Evening attractions are something to work on, however we understand this is no longer the season. As to the location - the other site of the island was much more attractive to us (we really liked Pafos). Nevertheless, we were really content with this facility. Highly recommended!
We were drawn in by the beach which is lovely, but very busy. It's a public beach and you'll need to pay daily for sunbeds which are stacked in rows. Those that have taken pictures of a quiet beach must have gotten up very early to do so. It's still a beautiful beach however. The other positive is the food. Not a huge hotel so the buffet isn't very large but the choice you do have is really good. The rooms are also decent and spacious.
Now for the negatives: we opted for all inclusive and the experience has put me off all inclusive. Here there is no convenience or value in the all-inclusive. No drinks in the room, not even tea, coffee and water...let me say that again, no water in the room after the first day. If you ask for a bottle of water outside of meals you will be sent away with a small plastic cup of water. If you need a drink in the middle of the night or you are unwell, too bad. It's 28 degrees here and this hotel is being stingy with water. I'd understand if this was an environmental initiative but it isn't, hence the plastic cups. Then there is the beach bar, which is part of the hotel but not included in the all-inclusive. They have better drinks and cater for dietary requirements, i.e. oat milk. As all inclusive you get 10% off. Even more annoying they have lovely beach beds which are €50 to 70 to use which felt excessive. The hotel has a la carte restaurants but no visits included in the all inclusive. I honestly think they don't want to be an all inclusive and as a result it is extremely poor value for money, just remove the option!
Next the amenities and entertainment. The evening entertainment was not very good but lots of people seemed to enjoy it. We used the spa pool as it was quiet and this was free. However, we had to pay €10pp for an hour of the sauna and €20pp for 30 mins in the jacuzzi. The latter is at least private and romantic, but what's the point in charging to use the sauna. Everything here feels like an opportunity to make more money, you select a hotel for amenities not realising you have to pay extra for everything, and without it, what do you have? With the cost of the hotel being quite high, it just leaves much to be desired. I would not recommend this hotel!
Amazing hotel! Food was extraordinary, location 10/10, staff was very helpfull and kind. The hotel is located on Macronissos beach, the most beautiful one on Cyprus. The hotel is a bit more expensive, but for a reason.
We would gladly come back here!

All was great, location, food, service, people.
Only think the hotel should improve is be less PLASTIC and TRASH! I will explain. There is a LOT of trash around the hotel, it should be clean as its close to the sea! All paths around the hotel are dirty and trash is everywhere!!! Another is no sorting trash like plastic, paper and glass - all goes to one trash can. Also using plastic for drinks around pool is very non ecological! Hotel should use reusable cups so there is no trash! As well some plastic at the breakfast and dinner!
Hotel is close to the sea so it needs to be change!!! Its 2024 and most of the **** hotels are advanced in ecology! Please work on this topic!
Anyway it was a pleasant stay but please clean the area around your hotel and care more about our PLANET! Cheers 🫡
