Protaras Family Fun Time

Very much a family oriented holiday resort, Protaras does everything on a bit of a smaller scale than the rest of the resorts. There is a water park, an aquarium and a marine museum, but they are smaller, a bit more relaxed and you could say, aimed at the younger kids.

While Agia Napa’s waterpark claims to be the biggest in Europe, Protaras’ is smaller and perhaps a little cosier. It’s much quieter and less packed, so your little ones will really be able to spend their times on their rides, enjoying their day out.

The Ocean Aquarium may be small, but it is well run and it gives your children a chance to check out animals like penguins and crocodiles up close and personal. They will also get a chance to enjoy a trip through rivers, lakes and oceans around the world. There is also a tropical plant garden for them to explore, along with the countless species of marine life. In fact, you will probably enjoy the experience as much as your kids; the aquarium is definitely a great way to have a fun time as a family.

Continuing with the marine theme, you could also visit the Maritime Heritage Centre in the area of Pernera, with its collection of maritime objects found around the world; it also showcases interesting things relating to marine life.

Have some night time fun by taking your kids to the recently opened bowling alley where you’re guaranteed to have a good time, then treat them to a tasty meal at one of the many restaurants found in the main strip of the town.
