Larnaca For Families
Larnaca actually offers quite a few things for your kids to do if you want to give them a bit of a break from building all those sandcastles (actually, perhaps you’ll need to give yourself a bit of a break from the castles…) and if there’s one place to guarantee to give your kids a fun day out, it’s the Mazotos Camel Park.
Imagine their faces as they go on their camel rides, while checking out all the wildlife around them. The Camel Park also offers a swimming pool and a restaurant, so once you’ve “walked like an Egyptian” by riding on the camels, you can have a splash in the pool to cool down and satisfy your appetites after a hard day’s camel riding.
Of course, any visit to Cyprus wouldn’t be complete without a ride or two on our donkeys, who until quite recently were hardworking domestic animals (in fact, if you’re lucky and happen to be in a village somewhere, you might still see and old man hard at work in his fields with his donkey). The Oriklini Donkey Park is a great place to spend some quality time with your family as you enjoy one or more of the many rides and excursions available.
Open from eleven in the morning, the K-Max Bowling Centre is big and bright and is a great place to show your kids how important things like knocking over all the pins are done. Offering two floors of ten lanes each, video games, two cafeterias, a bar and a restaurant, K-Max really does offer everything for a great day out. In fact, there’s even the K-Cineplex next door, with it’s six screens with all the trappings like surround sound and even a KFC, so you can actually spend the morning and afternoon bowling, then treat your kids to a bucket and a movie.
If your kids like a bit of speed and adventure, then you should take them to the Karting Centre which is open seven days a week. It’s apparently the biggest karting track in Cyprus, it’s also safe, having followed all EU laws and regulations. While your children are whizzing round in the mini-karts, the Schumacher’s amongst you should try out the racing karts; if you’re not a speed freak, have a go at the fun-karts. There is of course a restaurant/café to quench the thirst of any future Formula 1 drivers; this really is a true fun-filled family day out.
