Ayia Napa for Singles
If there’s one thing you need to know, it’s that Agia Napa is the party capital of Cyprus and anyone with any kind of knowledge of the club scene, knows that ‘Napa’ is club central. International deejays are booked months in advance and if you’re up for it, you can literally party every night away.
Your first stop needs to be the infamous CarWash Club and if you’re going on a girly holiday then this place will seem like heaven. Firstly, apparently if you smile nicely at the bouncers and wear your best summer stuff (i.e. showing off your lovely tan), you’ll be able to bypass the long queues to get in and secondly, only girls are allowed to dance on the bars. And once you’re in, you’ll get to see the deejay doing his thing from the inside of half a Volkswagen Beetle. And if you’re unlucky enough to have to stand in the queues, the nice people of the club have provided TV screens outside to entertain you.
If you like your deejays shaken, not stirred then head out for Abyss which promises a host of international deejays every year. We’ve just had icons like Heartless, Todd Edwards, Alex P, Brandon Block, Graham Gold who have partied it up with local hero Sonarr-K, while Abyss also hosts regular foam parties. And if you need a break from the 70’s and 80’s pop, old school, funky house and R&B which are mixed up for your pleasure, simply chill out in the open air area upstairs.
There are loads of other clubs around, all of which offer great fun and experiences you’ll no doubt remember forever, like the popcorn parties at Club Ice, you have to try out the River Reggae Club, which is kind of a local institution, as it’s the place everyone goes to once they’ve finished at all the other clubs. You’ll even find the people who work at all the other places come here once they’re done their work bit. Open until seven in the morning, the River Reggae Club is basically a large bar placed very nicely around a pool, playing the very mellow sounds of Bob Marley and his friends.
Of course, it’s very tiring dancing and having a good time all night, so it would be rest and relax a bit during the day time. Naturally, as Agia Napa is a seaside resort, what better place to do this than at Nissi Beach which has a lovely long stretch of soft, golden sand all lapped by some of the clearest waters in Cyprus. The beach is not totally isolated either, which means that there is always music in the background, courtesy of the surrounding beach restaurants, so as you’re resting and relaxing, you can get back into the party mood.
